Rita the Rock Planter

In February 2023, gcDig staff connected with Thomas Dambo, world-renowned Recycled Art Activist. In August, Rita the Rock Planter was constructed atop Little Grouse Mountain in southern Teller County. Over 130 volunteers came together to complete this remarkable project. She resides on land owned by Newmont Mining Company, along a trail system managed by the Southern Teller County Focus Group.

Rita demonstrates that beautiful things can be created from piles of rubble.
